The excavation of pebbles and sand from Muguwa Khola, Khaire Khola and Jhinghari Khola in Chure region is increasing these days. The pebbles are being excavated without any permission. The sand and pebbles are being excavated by the excavators in most of the streams and Rivers in Banke. The uncontrolled excavation of the pebbles and sand by excavators have caused problem. The activities of excavation are even unbarred by the concerned authorities. Even the crusher’s entrepreneurs, political parties and the local police are engaged in excavation of the pebbles. Due to the illegal excavation of sands and pebbles, the rivers have dried up and can even threaten the existence of rivers. The Nepal Government had made criteria so that the sand and pebbles from the rivers can be taken out. In the same, in many parts of the country, in the river side the excavations are carried out but they have not followed the criteria as suggested by the Government.
