In 2008, Namrata debuted her movie career from Alok Nembang's Sano Sansar where she played the lead role of Reetu. After Sano Sansar's Nepal release raised her profile, she was cast for Mero Euta Saathi Cha which was produced by Sudarshan Thapa and made a huge hit in 2009.
She appeared in two movies in 2010 First Love in a cameo.
