'Careless' doctor misdiagnosed patients

Diabetes, often referred to by doctors as diabetes mellitus, describes a group of metabolic diseases in which the person has high blood glucose (blood sugar), either because insulin production is inadequate, or because the body's cells do not respond properly to insulin, or both. Patients with high blood sugar will typically experience polyuria (frequent urination), they will become increasingly thirsty (polydipsia) and hungry (polyphagia). Diabetes is caused when your blood cells do not respond to insulin produced in the body. When you follow a regular exercise regimen, your body starts responding to insulin, helping to reduce your blood glucose. There are many signs and symptoms that can indicate diabetes. Signs and symptoms can include the following: Common symptoms are Unusual thirst, Frequent urination, Weight change (gain or loss) Extreme fatigue or lack of energy, Blurred vision, Frequent or recurring infections, Cuts and bruises that are slow to heal, Tingling or numbness in the hands or feet If you have any of these symptoms, it is important to contact your health-care provider right away. Even if you don’t have symptoms, if you are 40 or older, you should still get checked.
