A 23-year-old woman was killed by her husband, over her alleged illicit affair, at their house in Kodigehalli near Sahakara Nagar on Wednesday. Police said the woman was working as a receptionist in a private women’s care hospital in Sahakara Nagar.

The husband had initially misled police by stating that she committed suicide as he did not take her out for a ride on his motorcycle on her birthday. The deceased Vijayalakshmi, a resident of Byatarayanapura, was married to Narayana Reddy, who runs a transport business. The couple have a three-year-old son, Diganth. Police said the incident took place late on Wednesday and Reddy slit his wife’s throat after a quarrel over her fidelity.
