But the problem came to an end when DIG Nawaraj Silwal was appointed as the Head of East Regional Police Office.The clash ensued after the police tried to intervene the demonstrators who were trying to block the road at the western traffic junction of Lahan on the East-West Highway by felling tree at around 5 in the evening. Police fired three rounds of bullet and a few teargas canisters to take the situation under control, Siraha SP Ram Kripal Sah. Lahan has remained tense following the clash. The demonstrators have been pelting stones at the security personnel.
