TORONTO – A crash involving two vehicles resulted in five people getting injured in downtown Toronto overnight.
The incident happened around 11 p.m. at the intersection of Yonge and Bloor.
The two-vehicle collision took out a TTC shelter and caused damage to the exterior of a CIBC bank.
Police say one of those injured included a pedestrian that was struck by flying debris caused by the crash.
None of the injuries are considered life-threatening.
Police believe speed and disobeying traffic signals may have been a factor. However, there’s no word yet on any charges.
The intersection was closed for several hours for the investigation but reopened to traffic at 2:30 a.m.
