Maghi communities, primarily engaged in fishing are in difficulty due to the lack of fish in the river. Maghi communities residing in Lamjung are suffered when their profession came in crisis. Eastern parts of Lamjung- Dordi, Kesedi, Marsyangdi and Karapu, western parts of Lamjung- Karapu, Bharletar, Midim Khola are the dwelling areas of Majhi people but due to the lack of fish in the River, their occupation has come in crisis. They used to collect more than 4 -5 kilos of fish on the daily basis but the practice of poisoning the river and taking the lives of fish by electric current, the numbers of fish has lessened drastically. Most of them have changed their profession. Some of them have chosen to work in farm; carpentry as well as foreign employment is also chosen by the Majhi Communities.
