Police have charged baton on the mass protest staged by Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) on Friday. Scuffle between the security personnel and the cadres and leaders of RPP-N took place when the latter was moving towards the Constituent Assembly building at New Baneshwor in the capital.

The protesters were demanding Nepal to declare a Hindu nation. The protest rally was started from Babarmahal and was headed by the party leader Kamal Thapa. The participants became out of control soon after reaching Baneshwor. Despite the efforts made by chairman Thapa to his participants not to breach the restricted area, the mob had crossed the prohibited territory. Chairman Kamal Thapas brother and Constituent Assembly member Ganesh Thapa was himself involved in breaching the restricted area.

The security personnel deployed to cordon the protesters had provided security until latter had crossed wire fence. However, scuffle took place between the two sides when police tried to contain the irate mob which was to enter the no. 3 gate of the CA, a highly restricted zone. To take the mob under control police personnel had fired a dozen of tear-gas cells and  charged baton mercilessly, it is learnt. RPP-N central member Chirman Singh Kuwar and Gopal Dahal have been injured in the scuffle. DOCTOR ARRESTED AFTER PATIENT DIES FOLLOWING INJECTION


Rautahat, July 5: Police have arrested a doctor after a patient died in Bhalohiya VDC of the district.

Rafique Miya,50, of Bhalohiya VDC-2 reportedly died minutes after he was administered an injection by doctor Rabi Ahmed. A resident of Saitapurwa village of Sitamadhi, India, Ahmed was running an ayurvedic clinic at Pipara bazaar for the past 25 years.

Locals have charged the doctor of administering Miya injection without indentifying the health complication. An investigation has been launched into the incident, DSP at the district police office, Rautahat Sudhirraj Shahi said. RSS
